Waterfront Director USA- Hi Rock

The Waterfront Director is responsible for overseeing all staff, campers, activities, equipment, and facilities in the waterfront area and on the lake, excluding waterskiing-related activities. This role ensures a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for all participants while actively participating in and promoting a positive attitude toward all camp activities. Essential Functions Actively participate in and lead portions of Administrative Staff Training and All Staff Training. Schedule, oversee, and manage all waterfront activities, including swimming, boating, and beach activities. Communicate any camper or staff issues to the Behavioral Support Specialist and/or Camp Director. Ensure staff enforce rules, follow procedures, and fulfill assigned duties. Conduct formal evaluations of the Assistant Waterfront Director twice during the season and assist with goal setting. Evaluate and classify the swimming abilities of all campers and staff. Correct and document situations that may endanger the emotional or physical safety of any individual. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security of the waterfront area, facilities, and equipment daily. Oversee all Lost and Found items at the waterfront. Submit repair requests for equipment as needed and maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies. Coordinate with other Directors, Day Camp Staff, and Adventure Leaders to facilitate special events. Approve lesson plans, monitor teaching quality, and support staff development to enhance instructional skills. Participate in Administrator On Duty responsibilities and night activities as assigned. Model and teach values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to campers and staff. Enforce all camp rules and regulations among staff and peers. Maintain positive public relations with parents, visitors, and the general public. Submit all required paperwork and the End-of-Year Report on time. Perform other duties and provide unit coverage as assigned. Strong desire and ability to work with children and peers in an outdoor camp setting. Prior camp experience as program staff or administrative staff. Previous training and experience as an aquatic activities administrator. Ability to create, schedule, organize, and implement experiential leadership programs. Serves as a positive role model with high integrity, professionalism, and adaptability. Minimum age of 21 years; valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Excellent communication and supervisory skills; able to work with a range of ages and skill levels while providing clear instruction. Ability to observe camper and staff behavior, assess appropriateness, enforce safety regulations, and implement effective behavior-management techniques. The Waterfront Director oversees all waterfront and aquatic activities, ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for campers and staff.
