Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment and instrumentation. Remove, repair and replace equipment as directed. Electrical experience and WWTP operations experience is preferred. Operate and perform maintenance and repairs on all operational, mechanical, and electrical equipment, systems, and structures of the bio treatment facility. Calibration of instruments, repair dewatering equipment, pumps, motors, valves, and various other wastewater equipment. Inform facility supervisor or facility manager of any needed maintenance or repairs. Assemble and maintain instrumentation and process equipment. Clean and lubricate pumps, motors, and other plant equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, as well as architectural and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of all rules and regulations for wastewater treatment plants. Provide internal Operations Support. Maintain checklists and maintenance records, as required. Ability to troubleshoot 440-volt switch gear, pneumatic equipment, electronic equipment and instrumentation, and various mechanical and electrical components of the treatment system. Inspect and maintain pump stations. Practical knowledge of pumps, electrical motors, circuitry, and controls. Practical knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and construction trades. Ability to weld both arc and acetylene and use an acetylene burning torch. Knowledge of and experience in using a variety of hand and power tools as described. Uphold MEI's housekeeping policy. Monitor SCADA system to open/close valves to move waste throughout facility. Operate walk behind floor scrubber as needed. Inventory control ordering of parts, tracking usage and spare part inventory All administrative functions related to this area below is at the direction and review of the facility manager and/or compliance manager dependent on required function Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form. Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations. Attend department and safety meetings. Report for all schedule work shifts before scheduled starting time, and works until scheduled stopping time, as required. On-call availability every 5 weeks to your assigned team. During the 7-day period you will be available to report to MEI 24 hours a day within 1 hour. Maintain MEI's core values. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Reading comprehension skills, math aptitude and mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write clearly in the completion of various documents. Planning and organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work with little or no direct supervision and an aptitude to complete assigned work.
Required Education, Training & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalency. PA DEP Class C Water/Wastewater license, or OIT, or ability to obtain a Class C or higher license is a plus. Experience working in a water/wastewater plant. Construction field or related experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs. Requires frequent standing, sitting, talking, listening, balancing, reaching, pushing/pulling, and grasping. Requires regular walking, bending. Requires occasionally climbing stairs. Required to speak English. Office atmosphere. Limited exposure to outside elements.
