Job Description

WEATHERIZATION INSTALLER/CREW MEMBER
Solaire Energy is a small weatherization company in Bradford County Pennsylvania, dedicated to solving customer high energy use and improving customer comfort. We are looking to expand our weatherization work crew with a skilled technician who is self-motivated and wants to be part of a cohesive team. Due to the training involved, we are interested in a person who is looking for long term employment.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a full-time position providing energy installation services including the following: Working with a crew that provides energy efficient home improvements, weatherization, insulation, carpentry, plumbing and electrical for utility weatherization programs and for private customers. Diagnostic and safety testing of weatherized homes using specialized equipment such as a blower door, duct blaster, infra-red camera, electric meters and combustion analyzer. Pulling job materials from the warehouse according to the job work orders to stock vehicles for daily crew work. Documenting job progress, including exact materials and labor time for each measure, identifying barriers to completing measures, and any changes needed to the work order. Part of a team to install renewable energy sources such as solar systems. Job estimating as assigned, which includes written and photo documentation and job costs. Communication with on site and in office supervisors. Warehouse and truck organization/maintenance as well as other projects and responsibilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires an individual with: Experience in plumbing, electrical and carpentry. Strong technical aptitude with good mechanical abilities. Be a motivated self-starter, as well as have the ability to be instructed and follow directions. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to document data accurately. Good interpersonal skills; able to successfully communicate with fellow workers as well as a broad range of people, including the low-income sector and the physically and mentally challenged. Available to work 40 hours per week, plus overtime on an occasional basis as needed. Own a valid driver's license. Physical ability to drive paid for long distances during the 10-hour work day. Clear criminal background check. Solaire Energy provides many training opportunities for employees both in house and from other sources. We invite employees to study, research, and use other resources we provide, to educate themselves and advance their careers at Solaire Energy. This individual must participate successfully in the Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certification training. The wage is $16.00 to $22.00 per hour, commensurate with hands-on experience.
