You are a 1099 contractor meaning you are not employed by the business, only as a contractor on a as needed basis. Therefore the business is not withholding taxes from your pay. If you earn more than $600 with us in one year, you and I are both required to report it to the IRS on your taxes for that year, I will provide you with the form to do this. Another facet of being a 1099 contractor is that you are not covered under our workers compensation or business insurance and therefore you are asked to carry your own insurance. 2. We pay through Venmo. It is important that you send me an email after your workday is complete saying "Requesting assistant pay for (wedding date). Send to (your venmo handle)". This is because the IRS requires me to have an "invoice" for your payment, so that email would suffice. Our admin assistant will be sending out all payments and she works on Monday. So please email before then if you would like to receive pay during that week. 3. Assisting is a first come first serve basis. And you may claim as many or as few days as you like. Please note that our priority is to our interns, so if they are in need of an assignment during a day you signed up for, we may, with due notice, take you off of that day. Coordinators may also request to work certain weddings in place of assistants. In addition, we may remove you from the schedule if after a wedding or two we notice you are not a good fit for the team. 4. Assistant pay is $250 for the full day spot and $125 for the partial day spot, and your gas/food is not covered. Usually the couple will provide dinner. And often you will be able to carpool with the lead coordinator to save you gas. 5. Please wear all black business casual (jumpsuit, knee-length or longer dresses, black slacks and a black top) but wear comfortable supportive shoes. You may come in a more informal black outfit (jeans or leggings and a black shirt) for set up and change before guests arrive. 6. Wedding days may be as few as 10 hours or as many as 16. Please be prepared for either and the coordinator will let you know your day of schedule sometime the week of the wedding. If you are the partial day assistant, you can expect to be scheduled for no more than 5 hours.
