Job Description

Job Summary The Weekend Chef prepares and cooks a variety of foods according to menus, and portion requirements. Ensures food safety, sanitation, kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and adherence to health codes.
  • Weekend Chef prepares and cooks items as per menus and Executive Chef's instructions
  • Weekend Chef ensures meat, fish, and poultry are cooked to safe temperatures.
  • Weekend Chef follows recipes accurately.
  • Clean and maintain cooking equipment and utensils.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and functional.
  • Adhere to food safety and NY State sanitation standards.
  • Maintain proper food usage methods
  • Reports/records inventory supplies and equipment to ensure proper stock levels.
  • Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Ability to perform a variety of job responsibilities including, but not limited to the operation of equipment and preparation of food.
  • Stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
Experience Proven banquet experience with a strong background in fine dining and catering environments preferred Supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, demonstrating effective team management and leadership skills Extensive culinary experience including food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management Knowledge of inventory management, inventory control, and food safety protocols Prior experience in restaurant management or food service management preferred Familiarity with menu planning, shift management, and food industry best practices Experience with dietary department requirements and catering services is advantageous Strong background in hospitality, food handling, bartending skills are a plus Work hours: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m to 5 p.m. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to showcase their skills during weekend shifts while leading a dynamic team committed to excellence.
