Job Description

Certified Welder / Fabricator - Production Position Summary The Certified Welder/Fabricator is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components used in storage and material-handling products. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, operate welding equipment safely, and maintain production quality standards in a manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform MIG welding and fabrication on steel components and assemblies. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions. Set up and operate welding equipment, grinders, and fabrication tools. Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards. Measure, cut, and fit metal parts accurately. Maintain a safe and clean work environment following OSHA and company safety procedures. Assist with assembly and production tasks as needed. Report equipment malfunctions or material defects to supervisors. Meet daily production goals and deadlines. Perform other related duties assigned by production management. Qualifications Certified Welder credential preferred (AWS certification a plus). Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read measuring tools, blueprints, and technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic math and problem-solving skills. High school diploma or GED preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts. Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and work in a fast-paced industrial environment. Comfortable working around heat, sparks, noise, and welding fumes while wearing PPE. Work Environment Manufacturing/production facility setting. Exposure to welding equipment, moving machinery, and metal fabrication tools. Required use of personal protective equipment including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots. Preferred Skills Experience with fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, press brakes, or shears. Knowledge of production welding standards and lean manufacturing principles. Forklift experience is a plus.
Pay:
$24.45 - $29.45 per hour
