Job Title:
Welder Job Description This role offers an opportunity for a motivated welder to join a growing manufacturing team on second shift. You will perform MIG welding using a variety of techniques, complete a weld test as part of the selection process, and contribute to the production of high-quality fabricated products in a clean, relaxed environment. The team has time to train, so candidates with foundational technical training, such as TCAT, are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on production parts using flat, uphill, and downhill techniques in accordance with job specifications. Read and interpret basic blueprints to understand weld locations, dimensions, and requirements. Complete a weld test, including flat, uphill, and downhill welds, as part of the hiring process during the scheduled weekday time window. Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner. Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to standards, making adjustments as needed. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in the welding area and around production equipment. Collaborate with the foreman and team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency. Participate in on-the-job training to build skills and grow from foundational welding experience to more advanced capabilities. Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding job status, issues, and improvement ideas. Essential Skills Experience or training in MIG welding, including flat, uphill, and downhill welds. Ability to pass a MIG weld test that includes flat, uphill, and downhill positions. Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints related to welding and fabrication. Foundational welding knowledge gained through technical training such as TCAT or similar programs. Capability to work the full second shift schedule from approximately 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail while performing welding tasks. Ability to follow instructions, accept training, and apply feedback to improve welding skills. Physical ability to perform welding duties, including standing for extended periods and handling welding equipment and materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completion of a TCAT or similar technical welding program is highly valued and can suffice in place of extensive experience. Previous MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is beneficial but not strictly required. Familiarity with flux core welding processes. Comfort working from blueprints and production drawings. Willingness to participate in a short interview and weld test as part of a streamlined hiring process. Openness to learning new techniques and advancing within the organization over time. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean, relaxed production facility that is non-climate controlled. You will work on second shift, typically from 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. A foreman is available during scheduled weld test times in the afternoon to support the testing and onboarding process. The environment is focused on safety, teamwork, and quality, with welding equipment and tools set up to support efficient MIG and related welding processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clinton, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
