Job Title:

Welder Job Description This role focuses on welding and assembly work on refurbished refuse trucks and cement mixers. You will set up welding equipment, perform various welding techniques, and help restore used trucks to a high standard of safety and functionality in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Set up welding equipment and ensure all machine settings are correct for each job. Perform spot, tack, and MIG welding on refurbished refuse trucks and cement mixers. Assemble components and structures according to specifications and work instructions. Wash, clean, and prepare truck surfaces and parts prior to welding and assembly. Carry out basic auto body and bodywork tasks, including grinding and surface preparation. Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during fabrication and assembly. Perform general labor tasks related to production and manufacturing as needed. Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Follow safety procedures at all times, including the proper use of eye and ear protection. Collaborate with small project teams to complete refurbishment projects efficiently and on schedule. Essential Skills At least 6 months of welding experience, or a post-secondary welding certificate, or completion of at least one month of a specific welding program. Ability to perform MIG welding, including spot and tack welding, on metal components. Proficiency in using basic hand tools and power tools with at least 6 months of hands-on experience. Experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Ability to stand and work on your feet for up to 10-hour days. Capability to perform basic fabrication tasks such as grinding, cutting, and fitting metal parts. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work safely in a shop environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dodge Center, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
