Job Description
Welding 9-Month Instructor Lacombe Campus Job Announcement Northshore Technical Community College is acceptingapplications for a full-time, unclassified 9-month instructor position domiciled at the Lacombe Campus to begin the Fall 2026 semester. Applications will be accepted until position is filled, with preference being given to those received on or before May 4, 2026. All applicants are subject to a background check, in accordance with NTCC Policy HR-020, a criminal history check will be conducted onall new hires. NTCC participates in the federal E-Verify system for identification and employment eligibility purposes.
Knowledge of public relations/marketing practices and methods. Skill in instructing students from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds. Skillin using authentic assessment to evaluate students' needs and progress. Skill in integrating technology into curriculum and othereducational services. Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with anattention to detail. Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment. Ability to analyze problems, identifiessolutions, and takes appropriate actions to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes. Ability to teacheffectively utilizing a variety of instructional methodologies including lecture, lab work, hands on instruction, and other instructionalmethods and update instructional methods and materials and apply research studies in classroom, and lab settings. 2.

Responsible for providinginstructional services in the area of welding.RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional/Teaching Performance o Utilizeinnovative, effective, and equitable teaching techniques o Follow course syllabi and outlines o Maintain time on task o Receivefavorable student evaluations of instruction o Meet deadlines related to this function Program Coordination/InstructionalDevelopment o Develop Curriculum Guides, course syllabi and outlines, and other instructional materials o Prepare courseoffering schedule based on Curriculum Guides o Participate in curriculum meetings o Meet all deadlines related to thisfunction Program/Instructional Management o Maintain an active advisory committee with required composition of membership,and hold a minimum of two meetings annually o Maintain appropriate student records, i.e. grades, attendance, placement, completion, andlicensure statistics (if applicable), etc. o Meet all deadlines related to this function School or Classroom Management o Practice appropriate safety precautions o Maintain student discipline o Meet all deadlines related to this function oMaintain accountability of all assigned books, equipment, and supplies Student Guidance/Advising Activities o Providecareer counseling and academic advising o Follow Curriculum Guides in scheduling to ensure timely completion of a program of studies oServe special populations o Make appropriate referrals to students with special needs o Maintain appropriate number of students inclass and in program o Meet all deadlines related to this function College and/or Community Services o Participate inrecruitment activities, i.e. career fairs, etc. o Maintain program accreditation/certification or program licensure requirements Provide service to the College that may include some of the following activities: o Sponsor student organizations o Serve on orchair committees o Conduct or coordinate teaching consultant activities o Facilitate workshops o Teaching consultantactivities o Teach continuing education or customized industry courses o Provide routine equipment maintenance o Initiate andwrite new program proposals o Serve on College committees as required Provide service to the community that may include: o Participate in health fairs o Participate in charity or community activities o Meet all deadlines related to thisfunction Professional Activities, Leadership, and Service - participate in professional development activities that may include: o Complete coursework or degrees o Membership in professional organizations o Serve on a Board or in an Office ofprofessional association o Present a paper or facilitate a workshop at a professional conference o Participate in a LeadershipAcademy o Serve on an external institutional or program accreditation team o Participate in industry visits o Exemplify Leadershiprole on NTCC or LCTCS Committees, Faculty Council, etc. o Meet all deadlines related to this function Perform other relatedduties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Three (3) years of experience at the Journeymanclassification.Preferred Certifications:

Equipment Used:
Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office environment (copier, telephone, fax, etc.) 3.Software Used:
A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software. Student information systems as well as onlineinstruction modules.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with theemployee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) - four (4) continuous hours at a time. Theemployee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 50lbs. The work is performed in campus buildings and outdoors where the employee isoccasionally exposed to cold or inclement weather. The exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes ispossible in the laboratory environment. For classroom safety, instructor's hearing and vision must be at adequate level for safe supervisionof students and equipment.INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

The atmosphere willbe a welding shop, classroom, office, welding shop floor, temperature may vary. Some positions will be located within a prison. Exposure tonoise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, toxic chemicals, solvents and electrical energy.
