Data Center Technician Job Summary:

The Data Center Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of IT and network infrastructure within a data center environment. This role supports daily operations by performing hardware installations, break/fix troubleshooting, cabling, and equipment decommissioning while adhering to strict safety, security, and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities Install, rack, stack, and cable servers, network devices, and related equipment Perform hardware break/fix, diagnostics, and component replacement Run, label, and manage fiber optic and copper cabling Assist with equipment deployment, upgrades, and decommissioning activities Perform basic network troubleshooting and connectivity checks Transport and stage equipment within the data center as needed Follow all data center work rules, change management processes, and security protocols Adhere to environmental health and safety (EHS) standards at all times Accurately document work performed and update tickets or logs as required Escalate issues appropriately and coordinate with team members or leads Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Experience in a data center Hands-on experience with hardware installation or IT equipment Familiarity with structured cabling, rack layouts, and data center tools Ability to follow detailed procedures and work in a controlled environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Totowa, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $74000.00 - $85000.00/yr. 401K, Health Benefits including medical, dental, and vision Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Totowa,NJ.
