Job Description

Join our growing company! Welders Supply Company ("Welders" or "WSC") has an excellent professional opportunity for a personable, knowledgeable and results-driven Store Manager at our Big Bend, Wisconsin location. We are Southern Wisconsin's and Northern Illinois' fastest growing, family-owned distributor of gases, welding supplies and dry ice for industry, medical and commercial uses.
Job Summary:
The Store Manager's activities include counter sales, customer service, purchasing, product distribution, warehousing, and shipping. In addition, the Store Manager maintains the building and ensures that the Store's results meet profit margin requirements and other goals and objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
Open and close the store each day Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by greeting customers and fulfilling their needs Address phone-in and internet sales inquiries (orders, pricing, technical assistance) Receive and process cash and credit card payments Oversee the maintenance of daily cash deposits and invoices Monitor and maintain accurate product inventory Work with the Purchasing Manager and assist with product purchasing Work with the Transportation Manager to coordinate gas and hard good deliveries to customers via the company's professional drivers and VMI associates Work with warehouse operations to ensure orders are pulled correctly and shipped in a timely manner (also helping to resolve issues such as damaged goods and returns) Follow-up with customers on accounts receivable issues Oversee building and grounds maintenance and ensure that the showroom is clean, stocked, and orderly Ensure store employees' compliance to company policies, procedures, safety practices and regulatory guidelines Manage and assign store employees job responsibilities and work objectives Assist other Welders Supply branches as needed and perform duties as assigned by management
Performer Requirements:
Experience in store management and the efficient distribution of products and services to a wide variety of customers Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and coach employees, establish work priorities, plan, and organize activities Effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English when working with customers, suppliers, safety compliance officials, employees, and other associates Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents, general business/trade journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations while understanding of profitability and return on investment. Capable of managing goals, delegating responsibilities, monitoring progress and work objectives and providing feedback/performance evaluations to associates. Ability to define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and resolve branch problems. Ability to freely traverse company grounds, bend, reach and reposition self to locate and move materials and clean showroom Ability to lift and move products up to 60 lbs. from shelves and up to 200 lbs. using the appropriate support and lifting devices Capable of completing a work schedule which may be before or beyond regular office hours as needed
Equipment Used:
Hand cart and hand jack. Personal computer, various office equipment, internet systems and cell phone. Competency with Microsoft Office, Epicor Prophet 21, TrackAbout, UPS/FedEx shipping; inventory and warehouse management software; and e-Commerce websites
Qualifications:
Associate degree and previous management experience within a distributorship. Knowledge and experience with welding equipment, industrial gases and the processes that use these products preferred.
