JOB DESCRIPTION
Prop Shaft supervises and coordinates the work of members who work on the production lines. Prop Shaft supervisor prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Demonstrates strong people and leadership skills. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure customer requirements and production demands are met daily in Prop Shaft department. Organize and facilitate daily production department meetings. Responsible for performance appraisals including the identification of training needs of new and existing employees. Participate in employment interviewing and hiring decisions. Adapt production resources to meet changing demands. Communicate and maintain documentation concerning company policy adherence, disciplinary actions, work related accidents, etc. Ensure production personnel are complying with standard operating procedures (SOP), operator guides, and following safety rules and regulations. Support efforts to reduce waste and energy consumption. Participate in improving processes and operation on a continuing basis. Participate in problem solving teams and facilitate problem-solving activity in a proactive manner. Must be able to operate a computer for date entry, work instructions, time keeping, etc. Must be flexible to change (for all areas) Should have good time management and planning skills. Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES
History of progressive leadership skills through a cooperative and participatory approach Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (ie Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Proficient in J.D. Edwards and / or comparable ERP software Professional oral and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Will recognize and comply with all safety rules Will work overtime as requested by Manager or scheduled Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent work experience of 3-5 years in the field or in a related area.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
A manufacturing supervisor needs strong physical stamina and mental focus. Physically, they must be able to stand for long periods, lift moderate loads, and move through a production environment with attention to safety. Mentally, they must demonstrate problem-solving skills, decision-making ability, and handle stress in a fast-paced setting. Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking are essential, along with attention to detail for quality control and process optimization
