Job Description
Hours:
Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm Responsible for transporting ambulatory and non-ambulatory persons (in wheelchairs) via a wheelchair van. Responsibilities Safely maintain and operate a wheelchair van while in compliance with all laws and requirements pertaining to the operation of the vehicle and adheres to safety rules and practices. Secures all passengers in the van per Hospital Passenger Securement policy. Provide door-through-door pick-up and drop-off for all customers. Map out routes to and from specified destinations, identifying the most efficient route. Complete daily vehicle and equipment inspections. Assists individuals or maneuvers wheelchairs on and off the vehicle. Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations. Documents required information per transport.Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience:
Previous customer service experience required. License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Basic Life Support Certification must be obtained within 30 days of start dateKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Local geographical knowledge and ability to operate GPS devise. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and assume responsibility for timely completion of assigned functions.
