Rapid Transit Rafting is hiring whitewater rafting guide trainees for the 2026 summer season. Trainee rafting guides are hired on a full-time basis only as training to be a rafting guide is a full-time commitment. Our training class will begin May 18th and runs for 3 weeks or until trainees meet the required qualifications to guide commercial rafting trips on the Cache la Poudre River. Must be able to report to work every morning in the Poudre Canyon (~20 minutes outside of Fort Collins). Housing is not provided so must have local housing. Most of our guides live in Fort Collins. We take a limited amount of individuals for our guide training class, and we will close this ad when the class if full. Being a rafting guide is a fun, adventurous job that requires individuals to be physically fit and capable of working well in a very dynamic team environment. Guide trainees will learn how to navigate Class III-IV whitewater with customers in the raft. Must be able to interact with tourists in a fun, safe, and educational manner. This is a very challenging job, but incredibly rewarding for the right individuals! First year guides must be available to work the full season and cannot miss any days in the 3-4 week training period that begins on May 18th. This job is best suited for individuals who want a summer job to come back to for many seasons. Guide training is not paid and is an up-front investment in a fun, outdoor summer job for many years to come. Many of our guides come back for years and years to work on the river! Great summer job for college students! Once guide training is complete, trainees who meet the requirements will be employed as paid rafting guides. Re-hire preference is given to returning guides every season and an annual raise is provided for all returning guides. If you're a hard worker who wants to learn a new skill that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment running rivers, send us your resume and a brief cover letter highlighting 3 reasons why you think you'd be a great rafting guide. Applicants that do not complete the cover letter will not be considered. Phone and in-person interviews will be scheduled as the May guide training class approaches. We look forward to hearing from you!
