Job Description

Education and Experience Valid Ohio teaching license or certificate for Integrated Social Studies 7-12 Meets highly qualified standards as defined by the State of Oh Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrates reliability, timeliness and good attendance. Possesses knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards and instructional best practices. Ability to integrate technology effectively intro instruction and assessment. Demonstrates and supports Washington Local School District's Portrait of a
Panther Competencies:
Empathy, Communication, Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Integrity and Learner's Mindset. Essential Functions Guide the learning process toward the achievement of the Ohio Learning Standards established for the subject and grade level assigned to the educator. Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for lessons, units, and courses ensuring alignment with state and local goals. Implement a variety of instructional strategies to address the individual learning styles, needs, interests and abilities of all students. Assess student progress through a variety formative and summative assessments. Use assessment data to determine progress of students toward achieving learning goals. Modify and adjust instruction as needed to maximize achievement for all students, including those with individual Education Programs (IEP's). WEP's, ELL, and 504 Plans. Seek the assistance of and collaborate with district specialists, such as special education staff, counselors, the social worker, psychologists, and others, to meet the needs of students. Create a classroom climate that is conducive to learning and encourages student engagement. Maintain a safe and secure environment that embodies trust, mutual respect and community responsiveness. Develop reasonable rules for classroom behavior. Maintain order in a fair and restorative manner. Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records as required by state and federal law, district policy and administrative request.
