Evalues, plans, and coordines wildland fire and other daily operional situions to ensure adeque quantities of resources and machinery are dispched to incidents. Implements and maintains mobilizion plans, emergency disaster plans, dispch policies and procedures. Coordines air transportion of unit personnel, supplies and equipment. Secondary Coverage:
Prior wildland firefighting experience is required. Willing to live/work in remote locions (volile/unpredictable). Some Fire positions may have Conditions of Employment such as: a valid ste driver's license; a commercial driver's license (CDL); pre-appointment and random drug testing; or a physical or medical examinion. There may be additional Conditions of Employment not listed here, however applicants notified of any specific requirements the time a tentive job offer is made. Qualificions In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualificions requirements as defined below by the closing de of the announcement. Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GW-08: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to least the next lower grade GW-07 level in the Federal service; OR two full years (36 semester/54 quarter hours) of successfully completed gradue level educion or master's degree if the coursework is directly reled to the work of the position (such as forestry, range management, agriculture); OR combinions of gradue level educion th is directly reled to the position (in excess of 18 semester/27 quarter hours) and specialized experience. The educion must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. Examples of specialized experience may include : Prioritized distribution of aid, supplies, and equipment in cases of simultaneous wildland fire incidents. Maintained and assisted in developing dispching guides, staffing and action guides, mobilizion plans, Haz-M response/spill plans, fire management plans, directives, and/or reference merials. Coordined exchanges of informion with other federal agencies as well as municipal and ste fire and law enforcement agencies.
Selective Placement Factors:
Successfully completed the Primary NWCG Core Requirement of Expanded Dispch Support Dispcher (EDSD). Interagency Fire Program Management (IFPM) and Forest Service
  • Fire Program Management (FS-FPM) qualificions must be met by the time of selection.
Most recent IQCS master record and/or signed Agency Certified task book must be tached to your applicion. Currency Requirement :
Required to maintain currency once hired into the position. Currency of NWCG qualificions is not required for selection. FIREFIGHTER RETIREMENT COVERAGE
This is a secondary firefighter position under 5 USC 8336 (CSRS) and 8412(d) (FERS). Prior wildland firefighting experience is required. There is no age limit for entry into secondary positions.
