$85,000-$120,000+ per year with potential year-end bonus Roof Structures Inc. is hiring a Wood-Frame Construction Detailer / Material List Creator for our Fremont office. This role is critical to our ability to support estimating, project management, and field execution with accurate plan review, clean material lists, and organized construction documentation. Roof Structures specializes in structural framing, panelized roof systems, seismic retrofits, and specialty construction work. We are looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented, technically sharp, and comfortable working from architectural and structural plans to produce practical, accurate information for the team. What you will do Review architectural and structural drawings with a high level of accuracy Create detailed framing material lists and scope breakdowns from project documents Support construction detailing, drawing coordination, and document control Review addenda, revisions, and shop drawings and communicate changes clearly to stakeholders Assist with RFIs, substitutions, and plan clarification items Coordinate with estimators, project managers, suppliers, architects, general contractors, and field teams Draft detail sketches or markups as needed Organize and distribute current drawing sets and project documentation Help ensure field teams receive accurate, updated construction information What we are looking for 3-5+ years of experience in construction detailing, material takeoffs, drafting support, or similar project coordination work Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans Experience creating material lists, quantity takeoffs, or framing-related scope breakdowns Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Strongly preferred Direct experience with wood framing, structural carpentry, panelized systems, or related commercial framing work Familiarity with On-Screen Takeoff, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Procore, and drawing management platforms Basic AutoCAD or drafting skills Ability to identify conflicts, omissions, and scope questions before work moves forward Why Roof Structures Third-generation Bay Area company with long-standing GC relationships and a reputation for quality craftsmanship Stable team environment with long employee tenure High-impact role tied directly to backlog and growth Early-start flexibility that helps with local commute planning Benefits package including medical coverage, dental, vision, HSA, Life Insurance, retirement support, paid time off, and professional development 401(k) with Company Match, Weekly Pay Company Events, Tech Package (tablet or smartphone), Annual Company Trips Work setting On-site in Fremont, CA Monday through Friday Standard daytime schedule Local candidates strongly preferred Join a team where detail, craftsmanship, and accuracy matter—apply now to help drive project success from the start!
