T-Job Grant Funded Position?: No If temporary (or grant funded) position, indicate ending date: 06/30/2027 Benefits Eligible?: No Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities The Woodwind Coach will assist the Band Director in managing and running the band program, including teaching woodwind sectionals and working with the university woodwind musicians in a small group setting. The Woodwind Coach must also be prepared to assist with on-field instruction regarding instrumental performing and marching technique and must be available during Fairmont State University's 2026 Band Camp in August to fulfill some of the contracted hours and able to attend periodic university band rehearsals throughout the Fall and Spring semester to fulfill the remainder of his or her contracted hours. Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate must have a proven history of successful instrumental instruction. Preference will be given to the candidate whose primary instrument is a woodwind instrument but all instrumentalists will be considered. Special Conditions Candidate must be available August 3-14 where the majority of the allocated hours will occur. This position has a max of fifty (50) hours for a period between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. Candidate must also be available for most if not all Marching Band Sectional Saturdays, scheduled for: August 22, August 29, September 19, October 10, and November 14, 2026. Spring Semester Sectional Saturdays will be scheduled at a time of mutual convenience.
