30 Sep 2026 Posting Details Position Information Title Work Study Peer Liaison for QPOC Position Description The Pride Center at Bridgewater State University is to support LGBTQIA+ students and their peers, and to foster a campus climate of inclusion and equity. The Peer Liaison for the Queer People of Color (QPOC) group will play a pivotal role in cultivating a welcoming and affirming environment for all student attendees. This position will serve as a resource, advocate, and peer group facilitator within the Pride Center, helping to ensure that students find community, support, and connection. Peer Liaisons set the tone for daily activities in the Pride Center and support gatherings, programs, and events.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and facilitate weekly or biweekly Queer People of Color (QPOC) Group meetings, fostering a supportive, welcoming, and respectful atmosphere open to all students. Support the planning and promotion of QPOC gatherings, workshops, and related programs in collaboration with the Pride Center Director, Assistant Director, and Graduate Assistant. Create promotional materials for QPOC meetings and programs, including social media content, flyers, EngageBSU posts, and student announcements. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including but not limited to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race and ethnicity, disability, socioeconomic status, citizenship, and religion. Comfort working with and for the benefit of LGBTQIA+ students including asexual, bisexual, gay, intersex, lesbian, nonbinary, pansexual, queer, and questioning students. Strong desire to acquire new knowledge about LGBTQIA+ topics. Friendly and personable, with excellent customer service skills. Reliable, professional, and respectful to all. Event planning and graphic design experience is a plus. Physical Demands Working at a computer Ability to lift items up to 20 pounds.
