JOB GOAL
To motivate each student to develop competencies, knowledge and skills in orally comprehending, speaking, reading and writing a world language, in accordance with each student's ability; to interpret to students the culture of the countries where the world language is spoken; to discover and develop special talents of students in world language communications.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Demonstrates currency in the curriculum. A.Demonstrates a working knowledge of the core curriculum in World Languages and Common Core Competencies. B.Frames curriculum around essential questions in World Languages that provide opportunities for reasoning, logic, analysis and synthesis when planning units, lessons, and assessments. C.Keeps current in the field of World Languages and applies knowledge to the instructional program. D.Contributes to the ongoing evaluation of the curriculum. E.Effective use of School Wide Rubrics II. Conducts effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction A. Effectively plans instruction and assessment in World Languages and monitors students' understanding of the curriculum. Adjusts instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate. III.Manages the classroom environment and creates an atmosphere that is positive for student learning and involvement in World Languages. IV. Delivers instruction in World Languages effectively. A. The teacher makes learning goals of World Language acquisition clear to students and uses instructional techniques appropriate for World Language acquisition. B. Uses a variety of teaching strategies, including cooperative, peer and project-based learning; audio-visual presentations, lecture, discussions and inquiry, practice and application; and the teaching of others. C.The teacher uses questioning techniques appropriate to the acquisition of World Languages. D. The teacher evaluates, tries innovative approaches, and refines instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn. V. Promotes and communicates high standards and expectations in World Language acquisition for student achievement. VI. Promotes equity and appreciation of diversity and strives to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning. A.The teacher demonstrates an appreciation for and sensitivity to the diversity among individuals. VII. Fulfills all professional responsibilities A. Cooperates in interactions with parents and is receptive to their contributions. B. Shares responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department, building and school district. C.Exercises reflection on teaching and education and embraces the concept of continuous learning. VIII.Completes any other duty or assignment as directed by the
