Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise in wound management, patient assessment, and specialized nursing care within diverse medical settings. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in developing individualized treatment plans, implementing advanced wound care techniques, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise directly impacts patient recovery and quality of life. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including evaluating wound size, depth, exudate, and signs of infection. Develop and implement evidence-based wound care plans tailored to each patient's needs, incorporating advanced dressings and therapies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as physicians, physical therapists, and dietitians to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Educate patients and their families on wound management techniques, infection prevention, and post-discharge care instructions. Monitor healing progress regularly, adjusting treatment protocols as necessary to promote optimal recovery. Maintain accurate medical documentation of wound assessments, treatments administered, and patient responses using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA standards for patient privacy and safety protocols. Manage infection control procedures diligently to prevent complications related to infectious diseases or contaminated wounds. Skills Proven experience working in Level II trauma centers or similar acute care environments with trauma and emergency medicine exposure. Strong background in hospital medicine, emergency room settings, or outpatient clinics specializing in wound management. Knowledge of infectious disease care, Geriatrics, Medical-surgical nursing, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and post-acute care practices. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) documentation processes. Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration, venipuncture, and basic life support (BLS). Excellent patient assessment skills with a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to wound healing. Ability to perform detailed medical documentation using appropriate medical terminology while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Experience with inpatient and outpatient settings including clinic environments and sub-acute care facilities. Strong communication skills for effective patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
