Load Manager 1 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 1523 E Railroad St, Rawlins, WY 82301 Full-time Idaho Asphalt, Peak Asphalt 14 reviews Full-time Load Manager Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Northwest Region. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer modified asphalts and asphalt emulsions to the Road maintenance and construction industry. IAS is looking for an energized, flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for a Load Manager. This position reports to the Fleet Manager at our Idaho Falls, ID Corporate Office. Position Overview The load manager is responsible for coordinating the transportation assets and ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of product to the customers as well as the flow of asphalt inventory from the refineries into the plant. This position works closely with and communicates daily with customers to take orders and schedule shipments. Based on customer input, they coordinate with the plant manager and production managers to help schedule production, testing and certification activities. This position also works closely with the regional sales manager on longer term planning and communicates any short-term schedule changes to the sales manager. The load manager "builds" each planned load into the Loadmaster database and develops the daily dispatch report. They are also responsible for the upkeep of the Loadmaster database for each of the facilities plant. Based on customer needs, the load manager assesses the customer requirements and assigns the available trucking assets, develops and distributes directions to the customer's location. In season, Load Managers prepare for a weekly transportation meeting to decide with the Fleet Manager where, how, and when the trucks and 3rd party carriers need to be reallocated to accommodate the plants trucking requirements, This is based on their customer requests for the upcoming week to 2 weeks out. The load manager communicates regularly with their counterparts in other plants and the fleet manager to optimize the allocation of trucking assets across the company all year with customer season and inventory season. This position is a critical part of the quality control process, ensuring that the orders are taken and entered accurately, that tanks and load racks are properly assigned and that the proper transportation equipment is assigned and scheduled. They also follow up on each load to ensure that the proper product was shipped and that all paperwork was done correctly. When loads are returned, the load manager is the main point of contact to ensure that the proper information is captured and that the returned product is handled properly. The load manager also keeps track of load rack meter performance and notifies the plant manager of any issues that occur. This position also acts as office manager, managing office supplies and equipment, performing a variety of functions to manage inventory in the Sage-500 ERP system. In addition to the normal daily responsibilities, the load manager leads occasional projects and takes on other support activities as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. The plant responds to customer needs 24 hours per day and this position shares the responsibility for handling calls during the off hours. Position Responsibilities Interfaces daily with customers, drivers, plant personnel, company management Is on call 24/7 for requirements of the business Understanding of trucking industry regulations of HOS, legal routes including off track requirements, permits, bridge laws and weights for each state. Working knowledge of all plant products to be aware to not contaminate trailers or have a safety issue and an understanding of the different applications that the products are used for Scaling trucks in and out of plant facility to insure correct product from tanks, state legal weights, handing out the proper documentation for the loads, and making sure trailers are placarded correctly for all products DOT Supervisor Training for Drug and Alcohol testing and reasonable suspicion training Assists in Inventory management for the plants, refineries, drivers, and railcars Manages driver schedule every Thursday for the following week deliveries Assists with management of the plant to ensure that everything is running efficiently and performs other duties as requested or assigned. Position Requirements High school diploma Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to interact with customers and drivers, fostering effective working relationships The ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office, word and excel spreadsheets Must be very detail oriented, paying attention to all aspects of phone conversations, directions and customer orders on a daily basis Be able to make quick and efficient decisions, and be able to perform well under stressful situations Strong problem solving skills to respond to unforeseen circumstances and to troubleshoot problems relating to people and equipment Hiring for
