Job Description
Description The Yard Driver is responsible for performing several critical roles and responsibilities in the LPI Yard and within the LPI Warehouse. This position is responsible for safely, efficiently, and continuously moving tractor trailers in the LPI Yard. This position will support receiving OCC, shipping finished goods and managing a trailer pool effectively to meet business and customer needs. This position will also support other Warehouse Team functions as needed, including, but not limited to housekeeping, scale operator, unloading and loading trucks and railcars. The LPI Yard Driver is responsible for safely, accurately, and efficiently receiving quality raw material (OCC), shipping finished paper rolls, and managing raw materials to support two business units within the warehouse

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates mobile equipment, including yard tractor, safely with acute attention to surroundings. Inspect and maintain equipment by documenting inspections appropriately and reporting maintenance issues. Operates multiple types of equipment to move, store, and maintain the yard and warehouse materials- and to maintain yard and dock equipment. Includes yard tractor, paper roll clamp, OCC bale clamp, skid steer, front end loader, forklift, sweeper, aerial lift, other equipment
- as needed. Identifies and solves problems. Troubleshoots issues to meet customer quality and accuracy expectations. Communicates effectively with team members, team leader, and customers
- both internal and external. The Warehouse Technician services the customer needs of
- LPI Fibres & Paper Machine, and Dreamworks Coating Solutions.
- Area Home Station Groups, Safety Committee, Community Involvement, Engagement Action Team, Environmental, Health, & Safety committee, and other mill initiatives. Manages internal trailer pool and 3PL to optimize and support the logistic and transportation needs of 3 business units. Inventory Management. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and locations
- including off-site warehousing. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area. Housekeeping is expected of all team members. Actively supports teamwork both within the team
- and across all departments through LPI.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
High School Diploma/GED required. 1+ year's previous relevant work experience Mobile equipment trained. Basic computer skills (JDE Business Systems, KMI, eLogger, Outlook) High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail Ability to maintain composure, poise, and flexibility in a dynamic and constantly changing work area. Must be a self-starter and have a high level of initiative and motivation to complete work activities in a timely, efficient and safe manner. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Strong team player- supports the needs of their team members and the organization.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Experience operating a yard tractor and other mobile equipment preferred. CDL, or the ability/willingness to operate a yard tractor to move trailers in the LPI yard preferred.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting pay rate for this position is $26.75 per hour plus hourly shift differential pay. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
