Job Description

Yard Jockey @ $24 p/h
Reports To:
3rd Warehouse Supervisor - 8pm To 4am (Until Jobs Done) SUMMARY Working on the night shift, maneuvering straight trucks (GVWR <26,000 pounds) into a bay to be loaded. Yard Jockey also assists in loading the trucks. Dock operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maneuvering trucks in and out of loading dock area to necessitate loading of product for delivery in the morning. Starting and monitoring refrigeration units on trucks. Ability to report to work on time as scheduled. Must be available nights, Sunday - Friday 8pm - until job is done. Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisor(s) and fellow coworkers. Report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate authority immediately. Must pay exceptional attention to detail. Assist with loading of trucks. Wrap pallets prior to loading on truck (manually). Put away Produce load. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, write and receive instruction in English. Ability to perform basic math functions. Experience in utilizing Windows based computer applications a plus. Class B (airbrakes) CDL preferred. Experience operating straight trucks required. Experience working in refrigerated, food/beverage warehouse preferred.
