Job Description

The Youth Pastor will lead and oversee the student ministry of GT Church, known as "Illuminate," creating an engaging, Christ-centered environment where students can know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference. This role is responsible for developing programs, building volunteer teams, discipling students, partnering with parents, and cultivating student leadership opportunities. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students experience Jesus in meaningful ways, possesses strong leadership and organizational skills, and is committed to the mission, values, and beliefs of GT Church. Primary Responsibilities Ministry Leadership & Programming Prepare and ensure excellent execution of program curriculum during specified service times. Plan and oversee weekly youth services, events, discipleship opportunities, and special gatherings. Create engaging environments that encourage spiritual growth, connection, and participation among students. Develop and implement strategies for student engagement and student leadership development. Organize and execute teaching materials in both print and digital formats. Partner with church leadership to align student ministry with the overall vision and mission of GT Church. Volunteer Leadership & Development Recruit, train, schedule, and lead volunteers serving within the Illuminate ministry. Assist the Executive Pastor in volunteer development and leadership training. Cultivate healthy relationships with volunteers and provide ongoing encouragement, support, and communication. Maintain volunteer schedules and ensure appropriate staffing for services and events. Communication & Administration Maintain frequent communication with staff, volunteers, and parents regarding the Illuminate ministry. Utilize technology effectively, including word processing, email applications, presentation software, and production displays. Manage ministry calendars, attendance, event planning, and communication systems. Ensure ministry spaces and materials are prepared and organized for services and events. Minor Duties & Responsibilities Attend and participate in weekly staff prayer times. Participate in weekly, monthly, and yearly employee development opportunities as directed by the Executive Pastor. Maintain regular presence and participation in a weekly worship service (9:00 AM or 11:00 AM). Assist with church-wide events and ministry initiatives as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications A committed follower of Jesus Christ who adheres to and believes in the resurrection of Jesus and confesses His Lordship. Alignment with the values, beliefs, and mission of GT Church. Ministry and/or educational experience leading students. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to recruit, lead, and develop volunteer teams effectively. Proficiency with technology, including email, word processing, and presentation software. A genuine desire and love for students to experience Jesus in meaningful ways. Reliable transportation to and from work, with an expectation of being on-site for the vast majority of scheduled hours. Preferred Characteristics Relational and approachable personality. Strong team player with a servant-hearted attitude. Self-motivated and dependable. Ability to lead with creativity, energy, and vision. Passion for discipleship and developing the next generation. Employment Status Full-Time Work Schedule Schedule will include evenings, weekends, church services, special events, camps, conferences, and other ministry-related activities as needed.
