Youth Sports On-Site Supervisor FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt General Statement of Duties:
Performs a variety of on-site duties associated with youth sports. Maintains a safe environment. Encourages safe behavior from spectators, coaches, participants, and parents by enforcing program rules. Develops and maintains working relationships with team coaches, officials and other HRCA staff members. Provides direction to officials, scorekeepers and volunteers. Communicates information and maintains a positive attitude.Supervision Received:
Works under the supervision of the Sports Coordinator. May receive direction from the Sports Programmer and Sports Programs Supervisor.Supervision Exercised:

Examples of Duties:
The following examples of duties are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Provides exceptional on-site customer service to promote and support HRCA recreational programs. Role-models professionalism in dress and direct customer service. Wears uniform while on duty. Ensures the safety of participants, spectators, staff, coaches, officials and scorekeepers by enforcing all policies and procedures behavior. Intervenes when incidents occur so that situations remain under control. Maintains a professional, calm approach when handling conflict. Ensures that HRCA procedures are followed in managing incidents. Upholds and enforces league rules. Supports officials in upholding and enforcing game rules. Takes an authoritative stance when necessary for game ejections and suspensions. Completes incident reports for any incident that arises in the league while on duty. Informs supervisor about all incidents, complaints and unfavorable situations immediately via voicemail, email, or personal contact. Completes league supervisor reports which include evaluation of game, officials, coach and player performance as required per game. May distribute flyers and other information to participants. May help to set up and tear down sports activities and leagues. Performs related duties as assigned and required.Physical and Environmental Standards:
Most work is performed indoors in a busy setting where noise and interruptions prevail. Must be able to frequently sit and occasionally walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Manual dexterity is needed to type, write and use a scoreboard remote. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 40 pounds unassisted and 60 pounds with assistance.QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the rules of the assigned sport. Ability to work with youth in a recreational and competitive setting. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers. Requires bending, pushing/pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and climbing to perform tasks normally associated with this position. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Preferred 16 years of age. Exceptions to this requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.Benefits:
