DESCRIPTION:
Millbury Junior-Senior High School is seeking a dynamic and innovative Business and Technology Teacher to join our secondary-level teaching team. The ideal candidate will combine real-world industry experience with a passion for teaching adolescents, designing engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help students understand and apply business principles, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, digital applications, and emerging technologies. We are looking for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment, builds strong relationships with students, and works to make authentic, relevant connections between the classroom and the real world. QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Massachusetts DESE teaching license in Business, Technology/Engineering, or related content area, or eligibility for licensure SEI Endorsement required (or ability to acquire immediately) Industry experience in business, finance, entrepreneurship, computer science, or related field strongly preferred Strong Business and Technology content and practice skills to meet the needs of diverse learners. Knowledge of Accounting, Economics, and Entrepreneurship content and curriculum. Demonstrated ability to make real-world connections and integrate authentic, hands-on learning into curriculum Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Experience in planning, directing, and assisting group and individual instructional activities that are engaging and multi-sensory Familiarity with instructional technology tools, Google Workspace, and digital learning platforms Adobe Suite knowledge preferred Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or additional certifications preferred.
GENERAL DUTIES
Function as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team Analyze individual student data and use that information to develop measurable goals, objectives, and corresponding lessons/units. Teach a variety of courses, centered around the principles of: Money Management, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, App Creation, Computer Applications, and Personal Finance. Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned curriculum in business and technology that emphasizes practical application and critical thinking Create opportunities for project-based learning, career exploration, and student innovation. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate business and technology skills across disciplines and support school-wide instructional goals. Utilize varied instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including English learners and students with disabilities. Establish and maintain a classroom culture that promotes student voice, responsibility, and growth. Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Stay current with industry trends, certifications, and digital tools to ensure students are prepared for college and career pathways. Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff to support student achievement. Participate in professional development, school events, and committees as needed. Perform other professional duties as outlined and requested by the building Principal.
