Provide occupational therapy services in the areas of student assessment, direct therapy, training and consultation for staff and parents, and equipment fabrication or adaptation to enable students to function to their highest possible level within the educational system. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team in the assessment and program evaluation for students. Act as a liaison with medical and community service providers on behalf of students and their families.IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR

Washington State ESA certificate with Occupational Therapist endorsementESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES
Comply with state and federal regulations regarding special education and the practice of occupational therapy Manage a caseload as determined by district need Review educational and medical records and perform assessments in the areas of fine-motor function, activities of daily living and self-help skills, sensor motor development, muscle strength and endurance, range of motion, equipment needs, function of orthotic and prosthetic devices, and prevocational skills; and determine educational significance of student's physical, sensory or perceptual-motor deficits in terms of functional needs Recommend appropriate methods of intervention to remediate or compensate for benefits as related to environment Plan treatment programs including establishing IEP goals and objectives Implement therapy programs including direct intervention and/or on-going consultation to classroom teacher and parents/guardians Provide intervention recommendations for implementation in the classroom Identify equipment needs and assist in securing, fabricating, adapting, and maintaining equipment Maintain accurate comprehensive records of individual student's progress in therapy within timelines determined by the district Communicate and/or consult with physicians through oral or written reports, conferences, and/or other various means of communication to facilitate implementation of therapy programs Confer with parents/guardians and staff regarding therapy services and progress Consult with families and community medical and social service agencies in coordinating services and home programs Participate with other guidance team members in the multidisciplinary assessment of students for qualification as person with disabilities under Section 504 or IDEA Provide training and supervision for occupational therapy assistants and/or students Comply with all Medicaid rules and regulations including data entry as needed Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Services and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent Physical ability to lift and reposition students as needed Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as requiredTERMS OF CONTRACT
Salary:
$58,459 - $110,184 per year, placement based on experience and level of educationLength of Contract:
0 FTE, 180 days plus professional development daysLeaves/Benefits:
