Job Title:
Social Studies Teacher (CiHS Opportunities), 1.0FTE Assignment Type:
Continuing Teaching Position, 1.0FTE First File Review:
May 18, 2026Closed:
Open Until Filled What This Role Looks Like in Our School A Social Studies teacher at Lakeside High School works with students who are still figuring out how to understand the world and their place in it. You are with them in that process. Some days, you are introducing something new. Other days, you are helping them slow down and make sense of something that didn't land the first time. The work builds over time. Students begin to see connections. They start to ask better questions and develop a clearer understanding of the material in front of them. You may teach a mix of courses across the year. Some sections may offer College in the High School credit, so the work carries forward beyond this building. Even then, it still comes back to what happens in the room. You guide the class, keep students involved, and help them stay with something when it gets difficult. Over time, the work students do in these classes can shape how they think, how they respond to others, and how they approach the world around them. Not all at once, and not always in ways that are immediately visible, but gradually through the questions they ask, the perspectives they consider, and the confidence they build in their own thinking.Terms of Employment and Salary:
