Summary:

To facilitate student mastery of designated subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible individuals. The successful candidate will foster a motivating classroom environment, establish effective rapport with students, and maintain collaborative partnerships with parents and colleagues

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach district-approved curriculum. Plan a program of study and develop lesson plans and instructional material that is developmentally appropriate, as well as meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students. Create and implement a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, maintain discipline and utilize appropriate classroom management techniques. Evaluate students' academic and social growth, seeking the assistance of district specialists, as required. Communicate regularly with students, parents, school counselors and administrators regarding student issues. Cooperate and collaborate with other staff members. Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs. Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and valid secondary teaching certificate in identified content area PA teaching certificate (
