Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator at the surface operations in Greenwood, Missouri. This position is responsible for safely operating equipment within the plant. Essential Functions Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel culture Inspect equipment for signs of wear Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment Work in a team environment Clean work areas Maneuver equipment into loading or unloading positions Proper wear of personal protective equipment Notify supervisors of repairs needed Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week. Preferred Education and Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Physical Abilities Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements Assist in plant maintenance and repairs Perform duties with minimum supervision High school diploma or equivalent Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred Must have a valid driver's license Ability to work with minimal supervision Knowledge of MSHA regulations Effective verbal communication Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenance Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling materials
