Position Overview The district seeks a 1:1 paraprofessional to support a STEM-based experience. Join us for five days to support an exciting and engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) experience. Paraprofessional work under the supervision of a certified staff member for the purpose of assisting a teacher, classroom, department, or program that is in need of additional help due to special circumstances, such as class size, disabilities of students, the need to manage records, supplies, or instructional materials. Job Summary The 1-1 paraprofessional works under the supervision of the program teachers to primarily support one student with needs in any of the areas of academics, functional skills, and/or physical assistance. The 1-1 paraprofessional has many responsibilities that occur under the supervision of the classroom teacher including, but not limited to, the following: Key Responsibilities Under the direction of certified staff, responsibilities include: Delivering academic, behavioral, and functional skills instruction to assigned students in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings; Collecting data to measure assigned students' growth utilizing a variety of evidence-based measures; Implementing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for assigned students as required; Preparing for, and directly participating in, the development and ongoing review of assigned students' individualized education plans (IEPs) as required; Providing direct support to assigned students in integrated settings; Providing direct supervision to assigned students upon arrival, dismissal, and other required times during the school day; Participating in ongoing professional development to continuously improve their ability to serve assigned students; Assisting in toileting and feeding of students; Assisting in the lifting or transfer of students; Assisting in Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) when necessary; Assisting in the ongoing support of student assistive technology use; Collaborating with certified staff to provide a multi-disciplinary and seamless educational experience for students. Collaborating with the Team to constructively address student, staff, and parent concerns; Other duties as assigned by an administrator. Qualifications Illinois Paraprofessional License registered in Lake County Highly positive attitude with excellent work habits Highly professional language and demeanor
Compensation & Benefits Dates:
June 22 - July 16, 2026 •Mondays through Thursdays ONLY•
Salary:
Compensation will be paid out at the 2025-26 Hourly Wage of NSSD112 Paraprofessionals per the bargaining agreement
Workday:
