Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Afternoon Teacher Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, engaging environment for young learners. In this role, you will support lead Montessori teachers in implementing educational activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and positive classroom experience. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in child development and early childhood education while making a meaningful impact on children's lives. Prior experience with children is preferred, but not required. Hours are 1:00-5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Additional hours may become available. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, snack time, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior. Support children with their individual needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements, fostering an inclusive environment. Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including preparing materials and sanitizing materials and surfaces regularly. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily activities to foster strong home-school connections. Follow all mandated reporting laws and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures when necessary. Collaborate with team members to manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies that support childhood development. Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or babysitting/nannying roles is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for parent interaction and teamwork within the classroom environment. Ability to supervise children actively while maintaining a lively yet safe atmosphere. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being. Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
