AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Lockport, LA that is the leading provider of quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry. A 1st Class Outside Machinist is responsible for installing, aligning, and maintaining shipboard machinery and mechanical systems using blueprints, precision tools, and hand tools in a shipyard environment.Essential Functions:
Install vessel machinery through the use of blueprints and hand tools. Read and interpret standard construction drawings, specifications, and other technical publications. Apply knowledge of system start-up procedures, propulsion system alignment, and machinery plants. Familiarize with all aspects of craft-specific marine construction from design through installation and operational testing. Perform tasks related to air controls and tubing bending. Conduct operational testing of installed systems.Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of marine experience or 1 years of continuous Company experience. Good working knowledge of system start-up procedures, propulsion system alignment, and machinery plants. Knowledge of how to use necessary tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, heavy jacks, chain falls, torch, etc.). Some experience or background in welding.About AAA USA:
