Job Description

Must be willing to travel/temporarily relocate to Lockport, LA.

Position Summary:
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Lockport, LA that is the leading provider of quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry. A 1st Class Outside Machinist is responsible for installing, aligning, and maintaining shipboard machinery and mechanical systems using blueprints, precision tools, and hand tools in a shipyard environment.
Essential Functions:
Install vessel machinery through the use of blueprints and hand tools. Read and interpret standard construction drawings, specifications, and other technical publications. Apply knowledge of system start-up procedures, propulsion system alignment, and machinery plants. Familiarize with all aspects of craft-specific marine construction from design through installation and operational testing. Perform tasks related to air controls and tubing bending. Conduct operational testing of installed systems.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of marine experience or 1 years of continuous Company experience. Good working knowledge of system start-up procedures, propulsion system alignment, and machinery plants. Knowledge of how to use necessary tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, heavy jacks, chain falls, torch, etc.). Some experience or background in welding.
