Job Description

Assembler - 1st shift (6am to 4:45pm Monday to Thursday) - $18 to $19 an hour Job Description This role focuses on installing and assembling custom truck bodies, equipment, and accessories in a shop/garage environment. You will work primarily independently, using a variety of hand and power tools, following internal software-guided work orders, and contributing to high-quality, customized vehicle builds. Responsibilities Install and assemble truck bodies, truck equipment, and truck accessories on custom vehicles according to specifications and work orders. Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete installations and assemblies. Follow internal software programs and digital work orders to track, document, and complete each install accurately. Work primarily independently while managing assigned tasks and meeting production timelines. Operate cranes and perform rigging for handling and installing larger parts and components, following safety procedures. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure proper fit, alignment, and installation of components. Inspect completed work to verify quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications and company standards. Collaborate with small teams on each build, communicating progress and coordinating tasks as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and materials. Follow all safety guidelines and shop procedures, including safe use of cranes, rigging, and welding equipment when applicable. Use computers to access work orders, update job status, and follow internal software instructions throughout the build process. Demonstrate punctuality, take direction from supervisors or leads, and proactively identify and address issues during builds. Essential Skills Previous experience working on cars in a garage or body shop setting. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Comfort using computers to follow internal software programs and work orders. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in automotive or fabrication environments. Strong punctuality and reliability, consistently arriving on time and ready to work. Ability to take direction, follow instructions, and adapt to changing priorities. Self-starter mindset with the ability to work primarily independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform some heavy lifting in a shop environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications MIG or TIG welding experience is a plus. Crane operating experience is a plus. Rigging experience for handling and positioning large parts is a plus. Experience with automotive customization, truck upfitting, or similar mechanical work is beneficial. Familiarity with shop safety practices and safe operation of lifting equipment is advantageous. The work is performed in small teams on each vehicle build, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication. Standard hours are on first shift, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, cranes, rigging equipment, and computers to complete your work. Typical attire is appropriate for a shop environment, supporting safety and comfort while working with tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Carlisle, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
