1st Shift Facility General Maintenance Technician (El Paso → Midland)

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX . Position Overview AST SpaceMobile is seeking reliable versatile and skilled Facility General Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and upkeep of our company's facilities and equipment. This role involves a wide range of maintenance tasks, from routine inspections and preventative maintenance to troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electronic aptitude, with the ability to perform general maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal functionality and safety. Responsibilities also include maintaining property grounds, performing carpentry, and ensuring all work complies with safety standards. This position requires a proactive individual who can work collaboratively with various departments to minimize downtime and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.

Compensation & Schedule Pay:

$24 hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities.

Schedule:

Shift 1: Monday through Friday, 7am- 4pm with paid lunch and breaks .

Flexibility:

with available overtime daily and weekends. What you'll do: Perform general maintenance service/repairs of company facilities. Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential issues. Maintain the property grounds both inside and outside. Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary. Safely construct, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment, machinery, structures within the facilities. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions. Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment for events and projects as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and equipment Perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring:

Must be authorized to work in the United States Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English High school diploma or GED equivalent Basic understanding of maintenance procedures and safety practices Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in maintenance tasks Strong mechanical abilities Mechanical systems - concepts in repair, replace, install equipment and troubleshoot knowledgeable. Basic knowledge plumbing, and HVAC systems. Ability to use common maintenance tools and equipment Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) Minimum of 1 year of related maintenance experience (3+ years preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in maintenance or related role. Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: maintenance, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. Experience with maintenance management software. Proficiency or ability to learn in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Safety Requirements:

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
