Job Description

Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role where your passion for music therapy can inspire and support students! An engaging opportunity is available for a Music Therapist to provide full-time leave of absence coverage over a 12-week contract. This position is ideal for individuals who are committed to making a meaningful difference through therapeutic music interventions in an educational setting.
What You'll Bring:
Board certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) Experience providing music therapy services, ideally in school environments or with children and adolescents Knowledge of a range of musical instruments and therapeutic approaches Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families Ability to adapt and tailor interventions to diverse student needs and IEP goals Enthusiasm for fostering growth, creativity, and self-expression in students
What You'll Do:
Deliver individual and group music therapy sessions to support cognitive, emotional, and social development Assess student needs and design targeted therapy plans that align with educational objectives Document student progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with school protocols Collaborate with educational teams to integrate music therapy into students' overall learning plans Communicate regularly with staff and families to monitor outcomes and adjust interventions Contribute positively to the school community by promoting the benefits of music therapy Enjoy the chance to build connections and empower students through music within a supportive school setting.
