May 14, 2026 Job Description Special Education Tutor•Lincoln School Grades K-4 (Foundations Program) 32 hours per week. Anticipated start date: May 14, 2026 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 7:45 a.m.. until 3:00 p.m. (30 minute unpaid break); Wednesday 7:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. ESP Unit•Middlesex County Retirement and benefits eligible; Step 1 $26.47 per hour + a $3.00 per differential This position reports to the Coordinator of Student Services and is under the supervision of the classroom teacher. Job Summary The Special Education Tutor provides direct services to individuals and small groups of students both in the regular classroom and in special education settings. Contractual Relationship The Special Education Tutor is employed by the district through yearly appointments and is compensated in accordance with hourly rates established by the School Committee. Organizational Relationship The Special Education Tutor reports to the Coordinator of Special Education and Pupil Services and the special education liaison as assigned. Responsibilities 1. Provides direct support to individuals and small groups of students based on Individual Education Plans (IEPs). 2. Prepares instruction materials according to teacher guidelines. 3. Monitors student progress, records performance data and communicates such to special education liaison. 4 . Under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education liaison, modifies and adapts instruction according to a student's IEP. 5. Promotes appropriate social interaction and behavioral compliance for students. 6. Performs other tasks assigned by the Coordinator of Special Education and Pupil Services and the special education liaison.
