10.5 months position (210 days) 2025-2026 SY Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is accepting applications for a CTE
  • Agriculture Education teacher position that is available at Christiansburg High School for the 2026-2027 school year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for students in Agricultural Education courses based on current industry standards and state curriculum
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement to teach Agriculture Education Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials Possess the ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities Demonstrated ability to teach courses in the following
Agriculture Pathways:
Animal Systems, Plant Systems, Natural Resources Systems, Environmental Service Systems, and Power, Structural, & Technical Systems Advise the co-curricular program-specific Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO), Future Farmers of America (FFA)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Hold or be eligible for the Certified Welding Inspector (CIW) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credential through the American Welding Society Previous teaching experience Previous participation and/or advising experience with the program-specific Career & Technical Student Organization (CTSO), Future Farmers of America (FFA) Hold a master's degree in Education and/or the specific subject area

SALARY:
$55,473.97
  • $89,546.
14 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (salary may change due to 2026-2027 budget considerations)
