Jul 1, 2026 Job Description Third Future Schools is a high-achieving and growing network of charter schools. The network's school in Bastrop, LA Morehouse is looking for a Principal. The Principal is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school. They will create a safe and orderly learning environment that implements the instructional program to accomplish the mission and the vision of the school. They will lead and motivate the staff to strive for superior performance and help all children succeed and raise student proficiency. The Principal is supervised by the Director of Schools.
Qualifications:
Master's degree requires, or currently enrolled in a program Successful experience leading a school, district, or organization. Demonstrated leadership and experience leading teams in complex organizations or complex environments. Demonstrated experience managing change or educational reform. Knowledge of curriculum and instructional delivery Demonstrated ability to lead a group of people to the accomplishment of challenging goals or on a journey they would not ordinarily take on their own.
Primary Purpose:
Assume leadership and responsibility for school functions, instruction and outcomes
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage the day-to-day operation of the School, including implementing and monitoring plans, procedures, programs, and systems to achieve clearly defined and desired outcomes Nurture self-awareness Self-assesses strengths, areas for growth, and preferences Reflects on her actions; acts with courage and integrity Success measured by systemic leadership rubric Establish a shared vision of success Reinforce Core Beliefs consistently Guide staff to a shared vision that unites staff in a common goal Establish goals and clarify purpose Lead change through teamwork and collaboration Maximize human potential and inspire staff towards best hopes Demonstrate other leadership skills Communicate well and practice sense-making Make effective decisions that enhance the operations and instruction of the school Demonstrate broad perspective Operate systemically Identify and pay attention to system connections Focus on leverage points Strengthen system components Create a high performance and adaptive culture Distribute decision-making Develop an adaptive culture Hold the staff and the organization accountable for outcomes Design and execute action plans Assess need Design an effective action plan Implement the Action Plan well and in a way to meet the accountability metrics Monitor progress of staff members and the school Guide the instructional program Maintain an intense focus on student academic achievement and maintain a strong instructional core Improve the quality of instruction Assess student learning Evaluate staff Grow staff capacity and leadership density Provide effective coaching and professional development Facilitate individual growth of teachers and other staff members Strengthen leadership capacity Recruit and retain effective teachers Work with the Principal to recruit and hire effective teachers Retain effective teachers Create a positive work environment and a high-performance culture Communicate with external and internal stakeholders Communicate with staff and practice sense-making Build positive relations with parents and other school stakeholders Use different media to communicate key messages Perform other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Specific staff as assigned by the building principal
