Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer basic first aid Dispense and document medication in accordance with nursing protocols Communicate with parents/guardians as applicable Maintain appropriate documentation of all nursing interventions and medication administration in Health Accounting Support medical needs of all students enrolled in 21st century programs Respond to emergencies and provide support for assigned schools as needed Provide triage coverage for multiple sites when called upon Be reliable, punctual, and prepared to support the after school experience Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns as appropriate Collaborate with program staff and administration to support safe program operations Maintain reliability, punctuality, and preparedness for all assigned program days Carry out additional duties as assigned by the District Supervisor/Director and Principal Minimum Qualifications & Certifications Current Delaware Registered Nurse (RN) License (or compact state equivalent recognized by Delaware) Certified or eligible for a Delaware Department of Education School Nurse Certificate Minimum of 2â€"3 years of clinical nursing experience (hospital, community, pediatrics, public health, or school nursing) CPR/AED/First aid certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross; pediatric and adult) Experience working with elementary, middle, and/or high school students Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
