Job Description
TITLE:
Program SpecialistPRIMARY FUNCTION
Supports all programs, youth and activities for assigned Core Program AreaKEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities) Prepare Youth for Success Take direction from Site Leadership regarding activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members and quality in programs at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members Support Daily, Weekly and Monthly 21st Century Programing activities Promote and stimulate youth participation Ensure a healthy, clean and safe environment, in assigned program area with minimal assistance. Manage room and ensure a productive work environment.Establish ongoing communication with:
Follow direction of Site Leadership and Program Director Provide academic support to student development and teacher assistanceADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
: Must be trained in CPR/First Aid within the first 90 days of hire Must have a valid State Driver's License Must be able to pass a background check Must attend weekly staff meetings Must attend 8-hours of continued educational training each yearRELATIONSHIPS
:Internal :
Maintain close daily contact with Program Director, Education Coordinator, and Club members.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
: Preferred college student majoring in: Education, Sociology, Recreation, or Related Field OR 4-year college degree in related field OR at least 1 year experience in working with youth Experience in supporting youth programs. Knowledge of youth development Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems Ability to work hand and hand with youths' parent Ability to plan and implement quality education programs for youth Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
