General Description:

This position is responsible for the care and cleaning of school buildings and grounds to maintain safety and order.

Essential Responsibilities:

Dusts chairs, tables, shelves, and other furniture or equipment Washes windows, walls, woodwork, and blinds Performs vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and buffing duties Collects and disposes refuse Cleans and polishes furniture, brass, and other wood and metal work Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms, replenishes restroom supplies, and ensures toilets and sinks are operable Secures classroom doors and windows Cuts grass with push mower and weed eater and performs general ground maintenance Removes ice and snow from walkways, entrance ways, and steps Makes minor repairs to buildings, furniture, and equipment Cleans and deodorizes all types of carpet Unload trucks and move materials, equipment, and furniture, as needed and directed Assists in converts and reconverts for multipurpose spaces Assists in resetting fire alarms and bell systems, which require checking of all stations throughout the building Shares in the responsibility for security of the building at all times Maintains regulated materials as directed Performs related duties as required or assigned

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques used in the custodial field Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to skillfully operate equipment related to the custodial role Ability to comply with all safety rules and regulations applicable to the work which is assigned

Physical Requirements:

This job requires strength, agility, dexterity, and visual acuity to perform all tasks While performing the duties of this job, the employee must adhere to all site safety regulations The employee may be required to regularly stand, sit, walk, bend, climb ladders, and/or kneel There may be exposure to extreme heat and cold, outdoor and indoor environments, heavy equipment, moving machinery, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noises This job requires lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasional lifting/moving up to 100 lbs. alone or with others Verbal communication and hearing may be required for expressing or exchanging information Use of computer or other device screens is necessary 2026-2027 TBD See
