Job Title:
2nd Shift Cleanroom Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling and packaging medical devices and one-time-use surgical products in a controlled cleanroom environment. You will work on the 2nd shift, performing hands-on production tasks that require repetitive motion, attention to detail, and strict adherence to quality, safety, and cleanroom standards. 2nd Shift schedule of 2:00pm-10:30pm (Monday-Friday)(Overtime for weekdays or Saturday) Responsibilities Insert products into tubes using significant hand strength and repetitive motion while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Apply glue to medical devices such as respirators and related components, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Count, cut, measure, fold, and modify raw materials according to instructions in the Device Master Record. Complete required inspections and documentation of quantities, control numbers, and other details in accordance with QS and GMP policies. Perform on-line inspection of each device as it is produced, identifying defects or issues and promptly reporting them to the Production Supervisor. Seal products in their final packaging configuration, carefully following proper procedures and machine settings for the sealing equipment. Prepare packaged work-in-progress for sterilization and complete all associated documentation and control numbers per QS and GMP requirements. Maintain proper inventory control procedures, including product staging, segregation, and rotation to ensure accurate stock management. Perform and document scheduled facility cleaning tasks in line with QS requirements. Understand and follow proper cleanroom etiquette at all times to maintain a controlled and compliant environment. Collaborate and communicate effectively with production, purchasing, quality, and leadership to achieve assigned goals and objectives. Support the objectives of the quality management system and recommend process improvements when needed. Identify improvements and modifications to departmental procedures to enhance efficiency and quality. Work as part of a team with all personnel to help achieve overall company goals. Provide positive, enthusiastic support that contributes to a constructive attitude and strong team morale. Operate basic production equipment safely and efficiently as required. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor to support production needs. Essential Skills Ability to perform repetitive, forceful hand motions such as inserting products into tubes for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with a high level of motivation to maintain quality and productivity. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs safely and repeatedly during the shift. Basic English skills to read work orders and communicate with auditors and supervisors. Comfort working in an environment where many tenured employees primarily speak Spanish. Ability to operate basic production equipment in a manufacturing or assembly setting. Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and leadership. Understanding of, or ability to learn, QS and GMP documentation and quality requirements. Ability to follow strict cleanroom protocols, including gowning procedures and behavioral guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred 1 year of experience in a cleanroom, medical assembly, or warehouse environment. Proven ability to support or contribute to team leadership, helping foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Experience working with medical devices, medical assembly, or production and packing operations. Capability to identify and suggest improvements to departmental procedures and workflows. Comfort working around glue fumes in a ventilated area with fans designed to reduce odor. Flexibility and willingness to float between different departments as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a controlled cleanroom environment with a small team of approximately four employees in a new department. You will work on the 2nd shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on weekdays or Saturdays. Set breaks occur after four hours of work. Employees may drink water or use the restroom as needed, but must notify the lead beforehand due to gowning and de-gowning requirements. Cleanroom attire is mandatory and includes scrubs, a white coat, gloves, a hair net, and strict restrictions on makeup, jewelry, false eyelashes, and artificial nails. The department uses fans to help manage glue fumes, and you should be comfortable with occasional chemical odors in a ventilated area. The environment is collaborative, with many tenured employees primarily speaking Spanish, so you should be comfortable in a multilingual setting. You may be asked to float between departments as production needs change, while consistently following all cleanroom, safety, and quality protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Placentia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
