Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Production Manager will manage the activities and performance of Supervisors to ensure that quality products are manufactured on time, safely, and within budget.Ideal Candidate:
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring Sponsorship Must be able to work 2nd Shift hours 2:00pm-10:30pm (Two Saturdays monthly will be required as well) Must be available to work on-site daily in Hobart, Indiana A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manages the department, ensuring efficient and timely production and proper staffing of all department•related requirements to complete projects on schedule and within budget. Manages the Supervisor(s), ensuring their teams are well managed; supports recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures Assigns duties, gives verbal and written instructions, and reviews work for conformance to quality and safety standards Provides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when needed Communicates with the Director, Manufacturing regarding schedules and backlogs Works with Project Managers and Engineering as appropriate Determines outsourcing needs to maintain project schedules Reviews labor charges, purchase requisitions, and department schedules Conducts department and CIT meetings Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfactionQualifications Education and Experience Requirements:
Associate's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the material handling industryKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
