2nd shift Wet Section Utility Mount Vernon, AL 36560 From $22 an hour - Full-time From $22 an hour - Full-time Summary/Objective The Wet Section Utility position is responsible for the safe handling, testing, and monitoring of all chemicals and lubricants used in production. This role ensures chemical processes remain within required thresholds, equipment is properly calibrated, and production has adequate chemical and lubricant levels to meet demands. The position also supports maintenance activities and ensures a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. Key Responsibilities Safely offload and load all chemical and lubricant tankers. Monitor and manage chemical and lubricant inventory levels to meet production requirements. Perform all required daily chemical testing to support production needs. Adjust chemical processes as needed to ensure they remain within established thresholds. Calibrate, monitor, and maintain chemical equipment controllers. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area; promptly report plumbing, maintenance, or electrical issues to management. Conduct minor plumbing repairs and assist the maintenance team when necessary. Successfully complete forklift and crane operator training and operate equipment as required. Always wear proper PPE when handling chemicals in compliance with safety standards. Competencies Strong organizational and operational skills. Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in using a computer and calculator for testing and reporting. Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Knowledge of defect grading systems for steel processing. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in chemical handling, industrial production, or a similar environment preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in an industrial environment.
