Aug 31, 2026 Job Description White River School is a collaborative, community-driven PreK-5 school where every child belongs. We are a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning community that values students from all backgrounds and with diverse learning needs. At White River School, we hold high academic and social expectations while ensuring students feel cared for, respected, and empowered to take risks. We work together—staff, students, and families—to create enriching experiences, foster belonging, and support each child's growth, confidence, and well-being. More than a building, we are a proud, compassionate community committed to helping every student thrive—because once a White River Hawk, always a White River Hawk. We are looking for an elementary classroom teacher who is passionate about education and deeply committed to the success and well-being of every child. This person believes all students can learn and grow, sees each child as an individual, and prioritizes both academic progress and social-emotional development. We seek a collaborative team player who connects easily with others, communicates clearly, and values feedback as a tool for growth. They are flexible, reflective, and resilient—able to embrace challenges with perseverance, humor, compassion, and professionalism. They are honest, solution-oriented problem solvers who can separate personal and professional responsibilities while maintaining a joyful, positive presence. The ideal candidate is confident in designing and delivering high-quality instruction, analyzing student data, setting targeted goals, and communicating progress with families and colleagues. They are skilled in curriculum planning and implementation, comfortable supporting diverse learners, and committed to using assessment to inform instruction. They can multitask, think creatively, take appropriate risks, and build strong classroom communities rooted in kindness, care, and high expectations. They will create emotionally and physically safe learning environments where all students—across a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, and interests—feel supported, challenged, and valued. They consistently uphold behavioral expectations while prioritizing both academic and social-emotional development. Above all, we are looking for someone who wants to be part of a dedicated, supportive school community—someone invested not only in their own students, but in all students—and who shows up each day ready to collaborate, reflect, grow, and make a lasting difference.
