Position Summary:

The Skilled Material Handler must comply with all plant

GMP, SQF

Quality and Safety, Food Safety and Bio-Security procedures. The Skilled Material Handler should be able to demonstrate the skills needed to perform every job function in their respective section. This will include the ability to operate either Mezz Functions or the Pallet Runner to a proficient operational level. This position may also perform sanitation duties, as needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Can safely operate all of the equipment/machines related to material handling in the most efficient manner. Have in-depth knowledge of E21 functions. Can track quantities per order, input lot numbers and start/stop work orders on time. Responsible for completing all tracking sheets throughout shift accurately and in detail. (Toolbox Checks, Redzone) Can track orders as you go and ensure you have enough materials to complete orders without running out. Responsible that materials are supplied to the line with the highest quality and help perform root cause analysis on all quality defects. Understand all equipment on the mezzanine. Be able to use it on a daily basis and make adjustments when needed. (taper, box erectors, and case packer, lifts and carts) Operate forklift/high lift. Checks work orders and stages material according to demand for production lines. Ability to record tracking information on all materials used on production lines. Ability to operate all lifts and carts. Checks correct recording on computer screens, in reports and documents, verifies accuracy of calculations. Assist in supporting a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company's Safety Process. Participate/support the SQF program and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions. Understanding of all plant GMP's. Perform routine quality checks. Hold yourself and team members accountable. Makes verbal reports to Section Leader and provides spoken information about a problem or issue. Participate in 5Y methodology. Ability to record tracking information from all materials. Fill-in for other personnel per production needs. Additional duties and/or projects may be assigned. Available to work overtime, as needed. Work Environment:

The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which may require special safety precautions working around moving machines in production facilities, protective clothing or gear such as goggles, gloves and shoes may be required. May be able to work in a cold environment.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Ability to use hands/arms to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Ability to work in multiple areas of the plant and may be exposed to wet and humid conditions. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to use distant and peripheral vision, identify and distinguish colors, and adjust focus. May work near moving mechanical parts, high and/or confining places.
