Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated 4on 2off Charge Nurse to lead our nursing team with energy and professionalism. This pivotal role involves overseeing patient care, coordinating clinical activities, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Charge Nurse will serve as a clinical leader during their scheduled shifts, providing guidance, support, and expert nursing care across diverse departments including medical-surgical units, emergency rooms, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate nursing staff during assigned shifts to deliver exceptional patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physiological evaluations to ensure accurate and timely documentation. Administer medications, injections, IV insertions, and other treatments following strict protocols while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document medical records accurately and efficiently. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as trauma incidents or code blue events, providing critical support in high-pressure environments like Level I Trauma Centers or emergency rooms. Supervise clinical procedures including venipuncture, medication administration, and infection control practices related to infectious disease care. Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements including basic life support (BLS) certifications. Support staff development through coaching on anatomy knowledge, physiology, patient assessment techniques, and medical terminology. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in diverse settings such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics units, or post-acute care facilities. Maintain a positive work environment by fostering teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience Proven experience as a registered nurse in hospital medicine or similar healthcare settings with a focus on emergency medicine or medical-surgical care. Prior experience working in Level II trauma centers or higher-level trauma facilities is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to handle urgent care situations effectively within fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics. Strong background in patient care across inpatient, outpatient, clinic, or sub-acute settings with an emphasis on patient assessment and medical documentation. Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) platforms for accurate record-keeping. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, vital signs interpretation, medication administration protocols including injection techniques and venipuncture procedures. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), or individuals with complex infectious diseases is preferred.
