If so, Saint Peter School in Cambridge, MA, invites you to apply for the position of 4th Grade Homeroom Teacher! We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic advocate for student learning, possessing the skills and knowledge to create a positive and engaging classroom environment and create a demanding but compassionate educational environment. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal development of our students, fostering a love of Jesus, a desire for learning, and a passion for building community.Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary instructor for all subjects within the 4th grade curriculum, including but not limited to English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Religion. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, while aligning with curriculum standards and school goals. Embrace and integrate the Catholic faith into classroom instruction and activities, fostering an environment where students can grow spiritually as well as academically. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment. Actively collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support the holistic development of each student. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in education.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred). Prior experience teaching elementary school students, particularly in a Catholic school and/or in a lead teacher position. As this position includes religious instruction, applicants should be practicing Catholics with a clear understanding of the Catholic faith. We are looking for individuals who are eager to share their faith and values with our students. Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum standards and instructional best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering the growth of their faith life, academic potential, and social/emotional health.
